The Gem Sessions is a monthly jewelry-making class series taught by local jewelry artist Rae Rodriguez of Jester Swink, where each session explores a new gemstone tied to the month’s birthstone or theme. This February, we’re celebrating amethyst — the stone of love — paired with the soft elegance of rose quartz and complementary stones. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn two essential wire-wrapping techniques used to connect beads, chain, and charms in jewelry design. You’ll also learn why jewelers choose one style of wrapped connection over another, and how these choices affect movement, durability, and overall design. Under Rae’s guidance, each participant will complete two finished pairs of earrings and take home skills they can continue to build on. Fee includes materials for two pairs; extra materials for additional earrings are paid directly to the instructor on site. All materials are included, along with champagne and a small cheese board to enjoy while you create. No experience required. Ages 10+. Let’s gem!
Materials provided:
• Selection of gemstone beads (including amethyst & rose quartz and more)
• Ear wires for two pairs of earrings
• Wire for two pairs of earrings

**Additional beads for extra earrings available
Participants will learn:
